This recipe for raw vegan chocolate brownie bliss balls is pure heaven! A decadent, fudgy, chocolate treat made from only 5 simple ingredients. I mean, bite-sized brownies that are also healthy? Life is good.

If you are a lover of chocolate, like me, this recipe is for you. I find myself devilishly craving these bliss balls like they are a cheat food but then I remember they’re actually healthy and a really nutritious way to satisfy that sweet tooth.

They work well as a dessert or an anytime pick-me-up snack. I keep them in a jar in the refrigerator and pop one any time I need a treat or a burst of energy.

This Chocolate Brownie Biss Balls Recipe is

  • sugar-free, sweetened only with dates
  • high fiber
  • anti-oxidant and nutrient-rich
  • no bake and easy to make
  • a high-energy snack
  • works well at any time of the day, and even pairs well with a cup of tea or coffee in the morning
  • will stay fresh in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks (or 2 months in the freezer)

Ingredients

  • Medjool Dates
  • Walnuts
  • Cacao
  • Vanilla
  • Salt
  • Optional toppings include – coconut flakes, cacao powder, seeds, dried fruit, chopped nuts, etc.

Substitutions

  • I recommend using Medjool dates. Medjools are preferred for bliss balls because they are softer and more caramelly.
  • Cashews can be substituted for walnuts.
  • Cocoa can be substituted for cacao.

Tips for the Best Chocolate Bliss Balls

  1. Process your walnuts first to achieve a texture that binds best with the other ingredients.
  2. The salt. I wouldn’t skip it. Salt makes ordinary bliss balls taste more like a dessert than just a snack.
  3. Store in the refrigerator. They taste best chilled. They also taste great straight out of the freezer.
  4. Add a little peppermint oil if you’re into chocolate mint flavor. I am.
  5. You can add 1-2 tablespoons of almond or peanut butter to the recipe if you like.

Description

This recipe for raw vegan chocolate brownie bliss balls is pure heaven! A decadent, fudgy, chocolate treat made from only 5 simple ingredients.  Bite-sized brownies that are also healthy? Life is good.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup walnuts

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1 tsp vanilla

1/3 cup cacao

1.5 cups packed Medjool dates, pitted

optional toppings – coconut flakes, cacao powder, dried fruit, seeds, chopped nuts

Instructions

1. Add walnuts to the food processor first and pulse into a meal.

2. Add in all of the other ingredients except dates and pulse again to mix.

3. Add in the dates and pulse again until everything is well mixed.  The mixture should be somewhat crumbly. If it’s too dry to form into balls, add a little water or plant-based milk.

4. Roll into balls and then roll the balls in the toppings of your choice – coconut flakes, cacao powder, dried fruit, seeds or chopped nuts.

5. Chill in the refrigerator (not you, the bliss balls) then serve and enjoy!
